Africalandmarks ("we", "us", "our") runs the website africalandmarks.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse the site or place an order, why we hold it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1. What we collect

Three kinds of information reach us:

• Contact details — your name, email address, telephone number and the shipping and billing addresses you give at checkout.
• Order records — what you bought, your order history, and any correspondence you have with our support team.
• Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, the pages you viewed, the site that referred you and the times of those visits.

2. Payment information

Payments are taken by Shopify Payments and handled directly by that processor under PCI-DSS standards. We accept Shop Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Elo, JCB, and UnionPay. Full card numbers and payment credentials are never written to our servers; what we receive back is confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed.

3. Why we hold it

We use your information only for purposes that follow from running the store:

• To take payment for an order and get it delivered, including returns and refunds.
• To answer your questions and keep you informed about an order in progress.
• To detect and prevent fraud and unauthorised transactions.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• To meet obligations placed on us by law.
• To send marketing messages — but only if you have asked for them, and you can stop them at any time.

4. Who else sees it

We share personal information with third-party providers only where it is necessary to complete what you have asked for:

• Our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and its order records.
• Our payment processor, to take and settle payments.
• Shipping carriers, to deliver your parcel and provide tracking.
• Analytics providers, to measure how the site performs.

We may also disclose information where a law, regulation or legal process requires it, or where disclosure is needed to protect our rights, our property or someone's safety. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses cookies and comparable technologies to keep your basket working, remember your preferences and measure traffic. Your browser settings let you refuse or delete them; be aware that switching cookies off will stop parts of the site functioning as intended.

6. How long we keep it

We hold personal information for as long as it is needed to complete your order, support you afterwards, satisfy our legal and accounting obligations and resolve any dispute. Once that need has passed, the data is securely deleted or anonymised.

7. Security

We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards to the information we hold, and traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with SSL/TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices

Whatever your location, you may ask us to:

• show you the personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete information we no longer need to keep;
• stop sending you marketing, either through the unsubscribe link or by writing to us.

9. California residents (CCPA)

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you additional rights:

• Right to know — the categories and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to delete — deletion of your personal information, subject to the exceptions the law allows.
• Right to opt out — we do not sell personal information. Should that ever change, a clear opt-out will be published here first.
• Right to non-discrimination — exercising any of these rights will never affect the price you pay or the service you receive.

10. Children

This store is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete the record promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. Any revision is published on this page with a new effective date, so it is worth a look now and then.
